An undergraduate degree in economics leads to a great diversity of professional opportunities for those who wish to pursue graduate education as well as for those who want to enter the work force immediately after college. We offer our students a strong theoretical and empirical foundation in economics. Students may major or minor in Economics in our department. The economics major consists of 2 mathematics courses, 6 foundation courses, and 4 electives. The electives are divided amongst seven areas of specialization:
Upon successful completion of the major in Economics and Emory's core curriculum, students receive a Bachelor of Arts.
The economics minor consists of 2 mathematics courses, 3 foundation courses, and 3 electives at the 200 level or above.
