Economics Women's Leadership Program FAQs

Have questions about the leadership program and the women leadership course? Most of your questions may be answered below. For additional questions email the program director, Prof. Elena Pesavento at epesave@emory.edu.

No! Our programs are open to all economics students, regardless of whether or not you have a leadership position on campus.

The program is open to economics students of all genders, including those who identify as non-binary. Some parts of the program focus on female leadership, but we strongly believe that anyone can benefit from talking with female leaders and learning about different leadership styles.

Absolutely. You are welcome to choose to participate in the parts of the program that you feel would be the most useful for you. However, students who have participated in multiple areas of the program may have an advantage when applying for relevant internships or other selective opportunities.

For now, only economics majors (including students pursuing an economics joint major) are eligible to participate in the course, mentorship program, and networking opportunities. As this program continues to develop, we may extend its reach to include other related fields as well.
