Maxim BelykhMaster's Student

Maxim Belykh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Data Science from Emory University. His research interests include urban and spatial economics, macroeconomics, and the application of quantitative methods to social and economic questions. Across four summer research internships at New York University’s Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP), he has contributed to interdisciplinary research on urban systems, including the geographic distribution and affordability of legal services across U.S. cities and the spatial patterns of wildfire impacts on communities. He is a coauthor of the 2023 paper “Fame through surprise: How fame-seeking mass shooters diversify their attacks,” published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
