A common question we hear from first-year students is: "Where do I start if I think I may be interested in Economics?"
Both of our introductory courses, Econ 101 Principles of Microeconomics and Econ 112 Principles of Macroeconomics also fulfill the Social Sciences GER (along with Econ 201, 212, 215 and 231). By taking one of these courses, you can explore academically, make progress towards completion of GERs and towards the major/minor if you decide to eventually declare one within the Economics Department.
Please join us for an exclusive Class of 2030 Virtual Information Session on Tuesday, August 11th at 6:00 pm to learn more. Register here. If you are not able to attend the webinar, but wish to receive the recording, please register for the event.
If you have any additional questions about the Economics Department, please reach out to econungrad@emory.edu.
Plan to stop by our table and say hi at the Academic Showcase on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 (10:00 am - 12:00 pm) in the Emory Student Center Multi-Purpose Rooms (ESC). Emory's Academic Showcase is a campus-wide tabling fair that brings together Academic Departments to showcase everything Emory has to offer to incoming students.
