The student home of the Economics Leadership Program. Through recurring meetings, small-group conversations, peer connections, alumni engagement, and practical workshops, students build relationships and grow together.

A structured academic experience that helps economics students clarify their goals, strengthen workplace skills, prepare for the job search, and communicate with confidence.

Program Background
Launched in 2024 as a joint initiative of the Emory Department of Economics and WOMEN CHOICE, the program grew from a focus on women’s leadership into a community that welcomes and supports all students. It continues to explore the different experiences and challenges people encounter on their paths to leadership.

2026 Recipient is Oyinlola Olawoye
The recipient of this year’s Economics Leadership Award is a true example of what it means to be both a scholar and a leader. As a driving force behind the Emory Economics Investment Forum, Oyinlola Olawoye has created valuable opportunities for students to expand their knowledge, engage with peers, and connect with professionals. Her contributions to the Economics Leadership Program have also played a central role in strengthening our community—encouraging student participation, bringing energy to our initiatives, and helping shape the direction of our activities. Her ability to inspire others while excelling academically is a testament to her extraordinary drive, talent, and leadership.
The Economics Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout the academic year in a manner that exemplifies the values of transformational leadership: openness, inclusivity, collaboration, and empowerment. This award celebrates a student who has inspired and uplifted others through a dedication to fostering a supportive and welcoming environment within the Economics Leadership Club and beyond.
By embodying the principles of transformational leadership and actively contributing to the growth and success of her peers, Oyinlola reflects the core mission of the Economics Leadership Club: to empower the next generation of leaders to lead with empathy, vision, and integrity.
This award includes a $300 monetary prize and is presented at the annual end-of-year celebration.
