Virtual Visit


We wish we could meet all prospective students in person for a campus visit but we are excited to provide a virtual way to introduce you to the Economics Department and to the many opportunities that await you as an Emory Ph.D. student. 

We encourage you to reach out to our graduate program staff with any questions you may have.

Our Standard Offer of Admission Includes:

Annual stipend of $37,467 * per year for five years provided that student is making adequate progress in the program. 

*stipend increase effective Fall 2024

Full tuition scholarship valued at $70,200 annually. Students are only responsible for paying University fees
Health insurance subsidy that covers 100% of the cost of Emory’s student health insurance (valued at $3,570 for the year).
Professional Development Support which provides additional funding up to $2,500 for research, up to $2,500 for conference presentations, and up to $2,500 for training.

As an Emory Economics Ph.D. student, you will receive extensive job market preparation with the mentoring and support of Economics faculty.

Emory graduates with a Ph.D. in Economics consistently earn positions at U.S. and international universities, as well as in government, central banks, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the private sector
